Higher State Govt. Officials visited KVK Metangliang farm, Anjaw.

On 9th of December’15, Mr. N. Ete, Deputy Commissioner, Anjaw, Mr. B. Towshik, ADC, Hayuliang, Dr. T. Ete, C.O along with team of senior executive officials of different line department for the first time visited the KVK Metangliang farm, at Anjaw District.

The team were given a warm welcome by Dr. Manish Kanwat, Senior Scientist cum head of KVK Anjaw, along with his KVK team Ms. Rebecca Eko, SMS (Horticulture), Er. Uday Bhandari, SMS (SWCE) and Mr. Prasanta Mahanta, Farm manager. The delegates were shown the KVK farm premises covering an area of about 20 hectare and were further demonstrated the ongoing farm activities such as Vermicompost unit, Polyhouse unit, nursery raising unit and the farm blocks raising rabi crops.

Visiting team after inspection of ongoing farm activities, appreciated the consistent efforts made by KVK staffs for developing the farm up to this level within few month since inception on April 2015. Mr. N. Ete, Deputy Commissioner, Anjaw wished the KVK team and asked them to be work as a light house to enlighten and serve the farming community of this remotest district of Arunachal Pradesh. In this continuation he also seek their help to motivate the young and unemployed youth to establish their own venture and get start earning. Further he added Anjaw District known for the cultivation of Large Cardamom, still lacks good drying and processing unit, hence he urged the KVK scientific staffs to focus their efforts to develop low-cost, eco-friendly unit which will help to process their produce at their own farm level and get earn better price.
